Old Fashioned British Candy
"Just the Two of Us"
These classic sweets are a great choice for treat time. And with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, you can feel happy to enjoy these as a fun treat.
Did you know that Fruit Pastilles are the oldest sweet in the Rowntree's® family? In 1862, Henry Rowntree bought a cocoa works in York and transformed it into a confectionery company. Along with his brother, Joseph, and French confectioner August Claude Gaget, they developed the delicious taste of Rowntree's® in 1881. For more than 130 years these delicious chewy sweets have been making days more colourful with their irresistibly fruity taste and mouth-watering texture.

I really don't avoid fruit or only ever eat candy, but I must admit that I sometimes prefer fruit-flavoured treats to actual fruits. I love Jelly Tots and Fruit Pastilles, but have only seen them occasionally when visiting family in another province where there are enough British expats to make them worth importing. I am thrilled to find an online source because travel plans to my folks are on hold for the foreseeable future. This bag was exceptional for me because these two flavours would be the ones I'd pull side to eat after all the others in attempt to save best for last. There is an intensity to the fruitiness that presumably comes their use of real fruit puree. I think that when someone describes red wine as having a berry note to it, that's the essence of what you're tasting here - not too sweet, a tiny bit floral and almost boozy. Unfortunately, not a significant source of vitamins or antioxidants, which is a shame because they'd be an easy way to stock up on fruit - no need of refrigeration.
these Rowntree Fruit Pastilles are my absolute favorite.. I will be ordering again.. and again..
These gummy treats are delicious. Very soft and full of flavour.
I'm so sad that these are sold out; they're fantastic! Not too sweet, not too strong. Just a lovely sort of essence that I could eat all day (and sort of did...)
