Fun Fact: Everyone always wonders why Salt Water Taffy is called what it is! Well, the history of the name was loosely based between a little joke & reality. This special treat was originally produced in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1883 by a candy-store owner, named David Bradley. One day, his shop became flooded with sea water, and when people came by for their taffy fix, he sarcastically told them it was "salt water taffy" - and the name stuck... forever! Now, tons of seaside candy shops capitalize from the name "salt water taffy". But truly, they are not salty at all - as a matter of fact, they are sweet just like regular taffy!
