Candy has been with us for a long time. As a matter of fact, records show that sweets were a regular part of ancient civilizations over 4000 years ago. Now we're not going to be talking about candy that old, we are going to talk about brands we loved as we were growing up.
Unfortunately some of these candies are discontinued we can no longer get it for you. This is our way of paying tribute to the great candies that paved the way for the candy of today.
Candy from the 1900's to 1920's

Candy from the 1930's
Even though the 30's were tough some great candy stuff came out of this decade. Batman and Superman became comic book heroes. We also saw the arrival of Kit-Kats, Snickers bar and 3 Musketeers.

Candy from the 1940's
In the 40's the world was going through the second world war. Because of the war there was a sugar shortage and candy production was slow. However after the war there was a boom in candy production. During the 40's we saw great candies being sold like M&M's and Bazooka bubble gum.

Candy from the 1950's
The 50's were fun times. Candy like Pez, Candy Cigarettes and Anise Bears were very popular. We also saw the invention of the Marshmallow Peep. There were also a whole bunch of war themed candy ( probably due to the cold war) such as War Heads and Atomic Fireballs.

Candy from the 1960's
With the 60's we saw the psychedelic movement start. We also enjoyed the new arrivals of Starburst, sweet tarts, Boston baked beans and the Good and Plenty. Every kid dreamed of being an astronaut. Kids could head down to the store and pick up Space Food Sticks.
